Alan Carter was born in Sunderland in the UK in 1959 and emigrated to Australia in 1991. He lives in Fremantle with his wife Kath and son Liam. He has worked as a television documentary-maker for the last 25 years involved in projects such as ‘The Accused” (ABC) a ground-breaking doco following the first ever, in Australia, filming of a jury trial of an accused drug smuggler; “Desperately Seeking Sheila” (SBS) a forerunner to the farmer wants a wife format, “The Force – Behind the Line” (CH7), and “Who Do You Think You Are” (SBS). His debut crime thriller PRIME CUT was shortlisted for the prestigious international Crime Writers Association “Debut Dagger” Award in 2010.
