Steve Wylie was one of those kids with a bedroom full of bugs pinned to polystyrene boards, skulls and skeletons and egg shells and sea shells and jars containing the preserved bodies of creatures found dead. His fascination with animals strangely lead him to study the physiology of the plants they lived on, and later the evolution of plant viruses. He maintains a fascination with how life always seems to find a way, and with the incredible plastic genome that allows it to do so.
