Aleisha Woodward

Aleisha Woodward is the U.S. Consul General in Perth. Prior to this appointment, she completed a master’s program in national security strategy at the U.S. National War College at Ft. McNair in Washington DC. Aleisha’s previous responsibilities at the U.S. Department of State headquarters were in the Office of Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands, where she worked primarily on Australia issues, including the U.S.-Australia 12-Month Work and Travel Pilot Program and the U.S.-Australia-Japan Trilateral Strategic Dialogue; and as a Senior Watch Officer in the Operations Center, the State Department’s 24-hour nerve center. Outside of the United States, Aleisha served as the Press and Cultural Attaché at the U.S. embassy in Moldova, a Consular Officer in London, and a Public Diplomacy Officer at the Tokyo American Center, coordinating conferences and seminars on American society and foreign policy-related topics. Aleisha speaks Japanese and Romanian, and can shop in Spanish and French.
Aleisha received undergraduate and graduate degrees in international relations from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She was raised on a potato farm in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys traveling, cooking, keeping in touch with her large family, and singing in her church choir.
