Dr Margaret Pride is currently Music Director for Collegium Choirs, a structure of three choirs, Collegium Musicum, Collegium Symphonic Chorus and Collegium Vocal Consort. She is recognised as one of Australia’s leading choral conductors and clinicians and her choirs have toured to several eastern states cities and overseas destinations in Europe, England and Asia.
After completing her doctorate in choral studies and conducting at the prestigious University of Southern California, Margaret was Senior Lecturer in Music and Director of Choral Studies at the University of WA for nine years and Music Director for the WA Symphony Orchestra Chorus for eight years. She also established Australia’s first Masters Degree in Choral Music (Performance) at the University of WA and guest conducted the National Youth Choir of Great Britain in 1997. She has won many awards, the most recent being a Centenary Medal from the Prime Minister of Australia in recognition of her services to choral music.
