Terms & Conditions

UWA Extension

UWA Extension adult community education courses and events are open to everyone. No previous qualifications or experience are needed unless otherwise stated in the course descriptions.

Fees must be paid at the time of enrolment or booking. Confirmation of this will be sent once the course or event is viable.

Courses

Courses and events are offered subject to viability as determined by enrolment numbers. UWA Extension reserves the right to cancel due to insufficient numbers or other circumstances beyond our control. This decision is made approximately 10 working days before the commencement date. Students who have enrolled in a course that is cancelled will be notified and full refund will be issued.

Refunds and Transfers

Please choose carefully. All requests for refunds or transfers to an alternative course must be made in writing and will not be given unless received by UWA Extension 10 working days prior to commencement of the course.

An administration fee ($16.50 inc GST) will be charged for all withdrawals and all transfers.

Discounts

Please note that only one of the following discounts or concessions may apply to any one enrolment or booking, unless otherwise noted.

A Group Discount of 20% off the total cost for groups of five or more is available for most events and courses. Enrolments for this discount can only be made by telephone and details for each Student must be supplied. Individual refunds and transfers are not available on group bookings.

UWA Staff and UWA Students are eligible for a 10% discount on most courses and events. Other student concessions may be offered, but only as indicated.

Concessions

Centrelink Card and Pensioner Concession Card holders are eligible for the concession reduction on applicable course and events as indicated. Proof of concession eligibility must be provided on request. Companion Card holders should contact UWA Extension prior to enrolment or booking.Please note Concessions are not available with online enrolments.

Course quality and suitability

UWA Extension is confident that you will be pleased with your course and that it will be as advertised in title and description. Presenters are carefully selected and suitably qualified and aware of the needs of Students. If you have a problem with your course you should raise it with the Presenter in the first instance.

If after raising your problem with the Presenter your problem is not solved, or if you do not feel comfortable doing so, then call UWA Extension and discuss the matter with our friendly staff who can advise you and take steps to address the issue.

We ask all Students to complete the Evaluation Form provided to help us improve our courses.

Fees

Fees for each course accompany course details. Fees cover tuition and course notes and materials unless otherwise indicated. All course fees on this site include GST except where indicated as being GST Free.

Course attendance

Children, relatives and friends are unable to be accommodated in any UWA Extension courses or events unless otherwise indicated.

Please switch off mobile phones while attending your course.

Advertised Dates and Times

The adverstised dates, times and locations of courses and events may change without warning. If such a case, we will make a reasonable attempt to contact you with any of the details you have provided, however, confirmation of starting time and venue remains your responsibility.
