University entry with ACCESS UWA
Looking for another way of studying at The University of Western Australia?
ACCESS UWA program is open to everyone and enables you to study units without being enrolled in a degree course at The University of Western Australia.
The University of Western Australia has an international reputation for excellence and is committed to providing high quality teaching and learning activities in diverse fields. You may enroll in most units that are currently being taught at UWA and choose whether you wish to participate with or without assessment.
There are two enrolment options within the ACCESS UWA program:
Continuing Education (with assessment)
This program is for students who wish to attend lectures, tutorials, seminars, and laboratory sessions and undertake assessment throughout the semester. Your enrollment will be registered in the UWA student records system, issued with a UWA Campus Card and includes access to UWA Library resources.
Audit (with no assessment)
This program is for students wishing to attend lectures without participating in tutorials, fulfilling any practical requirements, undertaking assignments or examinations.
Deciding what to study
Not sure what unit to choose? The UWA Handbook contains all the unit descriptions, unit codes and any pre-requisites. Alternatively you can contact the Faculty and School staff who can assist you with the choice of units, prerequisites and crediting of units to a degree.
To check if your unit is run on a suitable day and time for you then check Venue and Timetabling or you can check with the relevant Faculty or School.
Applying for ACCESS UWA
If you are an Australian citizen or have an Australian Residency Permit you are eligible to apply to study through the ACCESS UWA program. Acceptance is subject to availability of places in the unit, the approval of the relevant Faculty Advisor and the Statutes and Regulations of The University of Western Australia.
Enrolling in ACCESS UWA is easy! Simply select your unit or units from the UWA Handbook, complete the application form and forward to UWA Extension via access-uwaext@uwa.edu.au and we will do the rest. Once the relevant Faculty has approved your application we will complete the enrolment process and send you confirmation.
Deadline for 2012 Semester 1 Applications: Friday 3 February 2012.
