Why can’t I buy tickets for Events and enrol in Courses in the same transaction?
UWA Extension operates two difference databases, one for major events that require ticketing and the other for classes and lectures that do not require ticketing. As such, there are two separate payment systems in operation to securely process your credit card details.
Why do I need to register each person I wish to enrol in a course?
UWA Extension uses a bone fide enrolment system. As such, each place in a course must be identified with an individual student, therefore 1 person equals 1 place. Minimum information required is first/lastname, email, and a password of your choice. We’re sorry to have to make you create yet another login to remember, but due to security considerations, we cannot use Facebook connect or similar.
When you buy tickets, we use a separate system, so you only need to enter your own (i.e. payer) details, and you can add as many tickets as you like.
You will also need to register to join our mailing list, but if you prefer, just ask for one by email or view the latest brochure here.
Why can’t I do a group booking online?
As the group booking discount is only available on selected events and courses you will need to call our office on 6488 2433 and one of the Client Liaison Team to check if it available and we will then be able to assist with you.
Can I get a Tax Invoice Receipt?
As the payer, when you do an online enrolment or a phone booking and you have an email address, you will automatically be sent a Tax Invoice by email along with a separate confirmation email. Please advise our staff if you would like this to be mailed to you instead.
I have special mobility needs. What do I do?
If you have special access or support service requirements please let us know before making your enrolment or booking by calling 6488 2433. Companion Card cardholders should contact UWA Extension prior to a course enrolment or ticket booking.
What are my lunch options?
If you are attending a full day course we recommend that you bring your own lunch with you (there is a fridge for you in the ground floor tea room at UWA Claremont, G.08 Lilly Pilly Room). If you wish to purchase your lunch the closest café is Bay Road Pantry, Bay Road, Claremont (200m from UWA Extension) or IGA on the corner of Stirling Highway and Taylor Road (1.5km from UWA Extension).
Can I use public transport to get to my event/course?
Buses run along Stirling Highway (Western 31) and Princess Road (Western 44), and Claremont Train Station is a 15 minute walk away. Please visit the Transperth website for details.
Can I bring my children to courses or events?
UWA Extension is an adult community education provider, so unless specified, we do not accept enrolments for participants under the age of 16. With the exception of some Family Life courses, you may not bring small children with you to courses.
I’m attending a Food & Wine course. Can I bring my own drinks?
This is a course-by-course issue and as such the availability of BYO will be listed in the course details, which can also be found in your confirmation email. It is your responsibility to ensure you have kept up with the latest information in the event there have been changes since your initial enrolment.
Where do I park and how do I find it?
Parking at UWA Extension is shown here as are UWA Crawley and CCGS Futuresphere. Parking signs need to be observed but parking on Claremont and Crawley Campus is free after 5pm and on weekends. As each season we use a large number of ever-changing locations for the wide variety of things we have on offer not all venues are shown on this link. Wherever possible, you will find a link to the venue’s own website directions in the Things To Know section.
If we haven’t answered your question here, please email us and we’ll get right back to you.
